And the natural thing to do with stuff is too pile it up, that is a natural animalistic behavioral response.
Being in the service industry I have been around Rich and Poor people, I can say 100% its not a rich vs poor issue.
I have seen rich people in Million dollar homes and poor people living in apartments in a poor neighborhood with hoards of rubbish and clutter .
It does not take alot of money too be organized and clean.......
Or at least out in the open visible for all to see.
Solution.....
Have proper storage cabinets and furniture to tuck your tangibles you use daily away.
Keep the stuff stored in a storage section outside or somewhere other than in your homes main rooms that are visible.
(Not the garage either)
Keep a photo of all your rooms with the bare minimum as a template for you and others that may clean up as a reference point to keep for how the room should look once you cleanup.
As children we were always told to cleanup your room, when in fact it would be appropriate to say organize your room, because 90% is actually reorganization and minimization that's needed and the rest is cleaning and decor.
This can be difficult with an unruly roommate or spouse to accomplish because two people would have to be on board but maybe that person is part of the problem of why you are living like a hoarder in the first place.
Maybe your life might need a reorganization as well.
Yet that's another topic.....
